装备制造园区规划面积103平方公里，其中划人曹妃甸片区16平方公里，拥有15公里岸线可规划建设5-7万吨级码头泊位60个，已建成专业木材码头、散杂货码头、海上作业支持码头16个，将依托深水大港和精品钢基地，逐步建成中国北方沿海地区大型临港现代装备制造基地。重点发展高端装备、海工装备、钢铁深加工以及木材深加工等产业。

截至2022年底，园区累计实现注册企业985家，工业产业项目151个，园区现有华电重工、冀东装备二家上市企业。现有“四上”企业109家(规上工业企业75家，规上服务企业17家，限额以上贸易企业17家);高新技术企业35家，科技型中小企业156家。2022年，园区完成“四上”企业主营收人464亿元;完成公财税收4亿元;规上工业增加值95亿元;完成固定资产投资165亿元。
